September 2007: nurses were banned from wearing crocstmshoes in hospital due to safety concerns. At that time news articles reported on the dangers of the shoe including risk of injury or infection through the holes in the shoes and static electricity build up from the shoes causing disruption to medical equipment.
In a recent press release Ian Broomhall, UK Sales Representative CrocsRX UK, said
"Crocs are pleased to announce a new range for the workplace.
"Crocs Works Shoes division have produced a range of footwear for the workplace, including, Specialist a design based on the Nurses favourite, shape and fit with improvements that answer many of the health concerns. The shoe has had an improved upper fore-part to protect the foot from the accidental dropping of syringes, scalpels etc. Aeration holes at the front and sides, have been removed to protect from possible blood spatter, and an improved heel cup for comfort, and protection.
"CrocsRX medical ranges will be at the SCP show in Bournemouth, and samples of Specialist will also be available to view."
