Solihull Care Trust is calling on residents to put their best foot forward this Christmas and help support the Blue Peter Shoebiz Appeal.
The Care Trust's Foot Health Department launched the television programme's campaign to collect and recycle unwanted shoes, in a bid to raise money for children orphaned by AIDS in Malawi, Africa.
The scheme gives poverty stricken children the opportunity to play and take time off from caring for their sisters and brothers alone.
Children's Corner will also give the youngsters a chance to come to terms with the loss of their parents and help them find ways to remember them.
Blue Peter is hoping to collect over 500,000 pairs of shoes and pay for 22 Children's Corners in villages across the region.
Penny Woods, Clinical Leader for Foot Health said: "We are delighted to support the Blue Peter appeal for unwanted shoes.
"Donating shoes that no longer fit will not only help to fund Children's Corners, but also help us to help you banish those painful corns and calluses."
Care Trusts participating in the appeal include Shirley, Chelmsley Wood, Knowle, Solihull, Castle Bromwich and Marston Green.
Special bins will be placed at each clinic for people to place their unwanted shoes in. The appeal will end once the target of 500,000 pairs of shoes has been reached.
