A new range of soothing socks for Diabetics has been launched by Cosyfeet. The Lightweight Sock is designed to provide gentle, smooth-fitting foot comfort and to avoid rubbing, which can injure delicate feet.
Many diabetics suffer with "peripheral neuropathy" in which nerves which supply the skin and muscles of the feet and legs are damaged, resulting in a lack of feeling and numbness. This can be serious as cuts, blisters or chafing can go unnoticed and lead to calluses, ulcers and infection. In the worst cases, a patient may lose a toe or even a limb. The Lightweight Sock is designed to protect vulnerable, Diabetic feet in maximum comfort.
Made with 98% super soft cotton and 2% lycra, the socks feel extremely light to wear and are held in place by fine ribbing and non-constricting Tendergrip® tops. As raised stitching can chafe a diabetic foot, the toe is handlinked and turned to create as smooth a seam as possible.
Many Diabetics suffer from swelling of the feet and ankles, so the Lightweight Sock is available in extra roomy as well as normal width fittings. Prices are £14.00 per 3-pair pack for normal width socks and £14.50 per 3-pair pack for extra roomy. The Lightweight Sock comes in ladies' sizes 4 to 7 and men's sizes 6 to 11. Colours include Black, Navy, White, Beige and Pale Blue.
